This exciting and engaging conference will focus on the life-long health impacts of breastfeeding, working with challenging breastfeeding situations, breastfeeding history and breastfeeding equity. This year’s BLC will feature two well-known speakers in their fields: Dr. Jacqueline Wolf, PhD and Catherine Sullivan, MPH RDN LDN IBCLC RLC FAND. Dr. Jacqueline Wolf is a Professor of the History of Medicine at Ohio University and a published author of several books and journal articles. Dr. Wolf will present on the history of wet nursing and human milk’s impact of health throughout a person’s life. Ms. Sullivan is currently the Director of the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute and Asst. Professor at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and has published numerous journal articles . Ms. Sullivan will present on equity in breastfeeding and overcoming breastfeeding challenges.
This is a conference not to be missed! So far we have physicians, nurse practitioners, lactation specialists, WIC clinic staff, public health professionals, hospital staff, health clinic staff, dietitians, nurses and other interested healthcare advocates waiting for registration and ready to attend.
BLC attendees are encouraged to visit exhibitors throughout the conference. However, due to the enormous success of last year's exhibition, exhibitors will not only have full conference exposure during breaks and the lunch session, but are also be invited to display their latest products/initiatives during the Networking/Demonstration/Vendor event Monday evening on April 1st!
