1. Introduction

Thank you for your interest in applying to be a volunteer on a Compass team. Even if you are not new to Compass, please read the following section carefully before completing the application. We have an exciting list of projects for 2017-2018. For a more detailed description of projects and clients, please visit our website at www.compassprobono.org. Short descriptions are included later in this application.

The Team Member application deadline is Friday, October 13 at 5:00 pm. Please note that preference goes to applicants who have an MBA. However, we do accept several non-MBAs on each team, especially those with consulting, Compass, nonprofit, or board experience. Applicants should have at least one full year of post-undergraduate work experience.

Team assignments will be announced in late October. Please mark your calendar now for the following mandatory training:

Volunteer Orientation on November 2

Projects run from late October run through May.

Strategy consulting for nonprofit organizations requires a meaningful time commitment. Even with the best of intentions, you may not be able to serve the nonprofit organization or get the most of the Compass experience unless you can be an active member of your team. On average, volunteers are expected to commit 2-3 hours per week to their Compass project. Compass is not a virtual experience. Your team will likely meet twice per month in-person.  If your current job/life requires extensive travel, it may be difficult for you to stay in touch with your Compass team, be at meetings, or complete your project work. Please consider your available time and your other commitments before applying for a Compass team.

After submitting this application, please send your current resume to elaurencin@compassdc.org

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Compass.
