PAIMI Program Priorities survey - facility work

The Legal Center (TLC) will monitor facilities, such as mental health institutes, nursing homes, juvenile justice facilities, children’s residential treatment facilities, public and private psychiatric hospitals and jails, and investigate complaints of abuse, neglect and rights violations.

Case example:

PAIMI investigated allegations of peer abuse against a 14-year-old at a detention center in Denver. PAIMI substantiated four incidents of peer abuse: three at the detention center and one when the youth was assaulted at a Denver jail holding cell. Through PAIMI intervention, the detention center provided a one-on-one monitor for the youth to ensure his safety.
