ISMP Survey on Gray Market Activities Associated with Drug Shortages

The continuing crisis with drug shortages has resulted in growing concerns with secondary or “gray” markets that sell drugs that are in short supply or are no longer available through the usual channels of distribution. We are interested in learning about your experiences with the gray market during this crucial time. We appreciate you taking the time to complete this short, multiple choice survey. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. Your responses will be confidential.

Please note this survey should be completed by pharmacy directors or their designee only. Directors of pharmacy may want to involve staff in the survey who assist with the purchase of products. But please submit only one response from each hospital pharmacy. We plan to use the results to advocate for changes on a national level aimed at reducing the occurrence of serious drug shortages.
