EUROCITIES survey on entrepreneurship and SMEs |
1. Introduction to the survey
Dear EUROCITIES members,
Welcome to the survey designed by EUROCITIES working group on entrepreneurship.
EUROCITIES is the european network of large cities and gathers more than 140 cities over 250 000 inhabitants.
This survey aims to collect information on cities’ strategies and instruments to support entrepreneurs and small and medium size enterprises (SMEs).
Your answers will be used for 3 purposes:
1 - They will be collected into a EUROCITIES publication and made available to member cities with the aim to promote the exchange of information and experience
2 - They will be used to draft a report to provide the European Commission with information. The European Commission Directorate General Enterprise and Industry has indeed requested good practices on cities’ support to entrepreneurs and SMEs.
3 - Finally, they will be used to elaborate recommendations on the support that cities need from EU policies and EU funding to continue and strengthen their entrepreneurship strategies.
The aim is to publish the report in Spring 2011 before the European Commission makes a proposal on the future EU Budget 2014-2020 (this is planned 1st July 2011).
Before the report is finalised, a draft version will be sent to cities that have contributed to the survey.
Please answer the following questions carefully before 31 January.
This deadline might seem early but we need to take into consideration the time for preparation of the report.
