NSBA needs your help. We have a significant opportunity to influence language in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Reauthorization related to federal mandates, data collection requirements and reporting requirements. The House Committee on Education and the Workforce held a hearing this week to examine the scope of federal mandates and requirements and whether such requirements are unnecessary and burdensome on local school districts.
The House Committee is interested in receiving compelling examples from your school district of unnecessary and burdensome requirements. However, we need your responses by Monday, March 14 in order to meet the Committee deadline. NSBA will consolidate and submit the information in our continuing efforts to lobby for the elimination of unnecessary and burdensome requirements. Additionally, we will provide information by Congressional district in targeting selected members of the House Education and the Workforce Committee. Your prompt response is very much appreciated.
The survey is provided below and we ask that you provide your most compelling examples in Part A and Part B. There is additional space in Part C, D and E, should you have additional examples you would like to share.
