Welcome to the 2013 Australian School Library Survey. The survey examines key trends and issues impacting Australian school libraries.

The collaborative results of the survey are published in a comprehensive industry-wide report and a copy provided to all participants. PLEASE NOTE: information about participating schools will remain confidential and will not be released.

Since 2010, the annual survey has identified positive links between school achievement and well resourced libraries.

The results of the 2013 survey will help to advocate the role of school libraries and teacher librarians to education ministers, departments and decision-makers as well as through industry associations and networks.

Softlink's School Library Advocacy Unit is proud to continue to sponsor this industry-wide initiative. The survey covers topics such as school library funding, staffing, evolving library roles, emerging issues and other insights for the future of the industry.

This year, the survey has been extended to ensure greater value. The survey will take about 25 minutes to complete. We appreciate your time is valuable, therefore please feel free to save your survey and come back to complete at any time.

Please feel free to answer the questions you can. There may be some questions that you are not sure how to answer. If so, please move to the next question.

We appreciate your participation in the survey and your ongoing support of the industry. Please return the survey by 31 May 2013.

Thank you.
