2015 Budget Application for Diocesan Program Groups

Dear leaders of program groups, committees, or ministries in the Episcopal Diocese of Maine:
At its meeting on May 17, Diocesan Council created a target budget amount for the Phase II Mission Priority Committee. You recall that this group is charged with the responsibility of evaluating and recommending budget amounts for diocesan programs in the 2015 budget. That committee’s recommendation will be reviewed and adapted by the Finance Committee prior to presentation to Council and Convention. This committee will do the work that Commissions did in the past.
In 2015 the diocesan budget includes $40,000 for programs. Groups applying for 2015 funding that can demonstrate success in achieving the seven criteria of mission and offer a plan for expanding mission, may request modest budget increases for the Phase II Committee’s consideration. The Finance Committee will treat all such requests seriously.
Please note that funding is designated for training, mentoring, and developing programs that either include the great majority of parishes and missions across Maine or that will allow individual congregations and regions (areas) to access the training and thereby develop a program its own. Budget money will not be used to fund program participants.
