Measuring the economic value of the VCS sector in Wiltshire |
1. Introduction
With so many voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations facing potential cuts to their funding over the next 12 months there is a real need for the sector to be able to demonstrate to private and public sector colleagues the value of the VCS and the impact that the removal or reduction of funding will have on individuals and communities across the county.
In recognition of this Wiltshire Infrastructure Consortium has commissioned some research to establish the contribution the VCS makes to the county’s economy and the part it plays in investing in communities. In order to get the most complete picture possible and show the true extent of its contribution the research requires the input of as many voluntary and community sector organisations in the county as possible, regardless of their size or what they do.
We hope that the process of completing this questionnaire will also be useful to your organisation as a way of gathering data and information which may help you to demonstrate the real cost and value of your volunteer workforce and the services you deliver. Please note that information relating to individual organisations will remain confidential throughout the course of this research.
