Question Title

* 1. In 2011 and 2012 METRO held several public meetings about the proposed US90A/Southwest Corridor rail line that will operate from Missouri City up to the Fannin South rail station. Metro has 3 new lines currently under construction. They have 3 more proposed lines and the US90A line is one of them.

Do you agree with the following statement?

As Metro is adding rail lines throughout the city, it will be important for Westbury and Southwest Houston to be connected.

Question Title

* 2. METRO has presented two possible rail routes through Westbury for a US90A rail line. Since the rail line would be on the Westbury side of US90A , either option would directly affect Westbury residents. What is your opinion about these two Westbury options? With either option, it is our understanding that Westbury would receive a rail station - either at Hillcroft or Chimney Rock, plus possibly a rail station at S. Post Oak.

Straight Path: The new rail line would be parallel to US90A and would pass through 54 backyards of homes in Westbury South. Some property may need to be obtained for right-of-way.

Alignment Option: The rail line would travel up the Hillcroft esplanade and then over the West Airport esplanade past Chimney Rock. The 100+ homes on West Airport between Hillcroft and Chimney Rock would face the rail line. The rail line would split Westbury South from the rest of Westbury homes and schools. Some property at the corners will need to be acquired to allow for the train to be able to make the turns.
