Waxhaw Public Art Survey Spring 2013
Waxhaw is exploring ways to make public art an integral part of its community development strategy.
Research shows that public art:
• Enriches and connects a community
• Enhances the social, natural, physical, or historical context of a location
• Provides a significant tool for building economic development and tourism
The Beautification Committee would like to know your desires and concerns around creating a plan for public art in Waxhaw.
Your anonymous responses will be used to: develop policy, determine specific locations, create opportunities for artists, and understand your ideas around the placement of art in and around Waxhaw.
We hope you will take a few minutes to reply. Your feedback is critical to the process. Thank you for your interest!
Note: For the purposes of this study, public art is defined as works of art in any medium that have been planned and executed with the specific intention of being sited or staged in a public location. Artwork is usually outside and accessible to all but may include publicly accessible buildings.
