Introduction

The 2015-2017 biennial budget proposal would ELIMINATE the IRIS long-term support option in Wisconsin. If the budget passes, it will greatly affect the lives of over 11,000 IRIS participants, including people with disabilities and seniors, and those who provide their supports.

People rely on IRIS to hire and train their own personal care workers who help them bathe, dress, eat and support household tasks. IRIS allows people to choose the help they need to live, work, and participate in their communities -- allowing more people to stay in their homes and avoid costly institutions.

“Save IRIS” is a non-partisan grassroots movement of IRIS participants and their allies to preserve IRIS, as IRIS is the only long-term care option in Wisconsin that offers its participants the ability to completely self-direct their supports and services.

It is critical that Governor Walker and legislators hear how your experience with IRIS has affected your life or that of someone you care for. Please take a few minutes to respond to this short survey.
