Have a specific tip? Shorten it into a sentence (two at most!) and we’ll turn it into an infographic or post it on social media! If you use Twitter, think of it like a tweet. Don’t be afraid of quick, one sentence ideas – they are easy to share and simple for others to remember. Have a longer idea? Jot down your key points and we’ll get in touch with you about a blog or video post!
Examples and prompts to jumpstart your thinking:
• When planning lunch for a large group, what are the top things someone should think about? Example: how many pieces of pizza per person, how early do you need to plan catering, how do you create a smooth set up, what’s the best place to buy snacks, what’s the #1 food you always make sure you have, etc.
• If you’re designing a day of service that includes a “fix up” project, (painting, deep cleaning, reorganizing, etc.), what are some tips for making sure everything runs smoothly? Example: Pre-shake and open paint cans so volunteers don’t have to, make sure you buy face masks for sanding projects, account for x amount of time for primer/paint to try, know ingredients of cleaning supplies in case volunteers have allergies, etc.
• Other ideas: How to begin a corporate partner relationship, tips for stretching a small budget, how to manage transportation for a large day of service, best way to utilize social media to recruit volunteers, how to engage baby boomers/college students/parents/etc. in volunteering, how to start a particular kind of program or practice, or any other specific topic you’d like!
