ABOUT THE PROJECT
The City of Holyoke, in partnership with Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), has undertaken a study to consider reuse options the Mount Tom power plant site.

The study aims to:
• Illustrate the site’s challenges and opportunities
• Give residents a chance to weigh in on principles that should guide its reuse, and
• Provide the community with facts, data and some feasible reuse options to inform future discussions about the site’s redevelopment.

Throughout this study, we have reached out to the Holyoke community. After the December kickoff meeting, we hosted a meeting in February providing information on the site conditions where we gathered the community’s priorities for the reuse of the Mount Tom Power Plant site. Mobile workshops providing information about the site conditions and a survey on the community’s priorities were put at four locations in Holyoke and online during March/April.

After evaluating those priorities, we presented three possible options for the site at the public meeting held on May 14th. These options are presented in great detail at http://www.cbuilding.org/sites/default/files/HolyokePresentationRevised_May27.pdf

*Scenario 1 - Solar PV System + retention of existing farm
*Scenario 2 - Solar PV System + Public Access to River + Retention of Existing Farm.
*Scenario 3 - Solar PV System + Public Access to River + Expanded Agricultural Use + Anaerobic Digestion + Retention of Existing Farm

You can review the potential reuse options in greater detail at the reuse study website at http://www.cbuilding.org/project/cec-holyoke.
In this survey, we will briefly describe three options, then ask you as short questions to asses your opinion of the options as presented.
