We need your valuable feedback on a potential brand new nursery/pre-school setting to be set up in Fareham affiliated to the Rainbow Centre, Palmerston Drive, Fareham, PO14 1BJ

The Rainbow Centre is renowned as an “outstanding” provider of Early Years Foundation learning and development to children with cerebral palsy as recognised by Ofsted.

We are currently looking to create a stand alone nursery/pre-school setting for children aged 2 years 9 months to school age within the centre with two aims in mind. Firstly to provide greater support to our families attending the centre who might have siblings at nursery/pre-school age and secondly to offer up this fantastic facility to families or working parents in the local community.

We are looking to offer a year round service, barring Bank Holidays and Christmas and would be open from 8am to 6pm to help working parents with drop off prior to work. However, we are also looking to provide more traditional pre-school sessions in both the morning and afternoon as well.

If you fall into any of the following categories we would be delighted if you could take the time to complete our survey and return it as quickly as possible to help us to ensure we make the right decisions whilst we continue to serve and support:-

1) Existing parent of child at the Rainbow Centre with a nursery/pre-school aged sibling
2) Parent of child with cerebral palsy, just looking into care and support with additional sibling of nursery/pre-school age
3) Past parent helped by the Rainbow Centre with nursery/pre-school age child(ren)
4) Local Fareham based parent with nursery/pre-school age child(ren)
5) Parent of child(ren) at our closest primary schools with younger siblings at nursery/pre-school age: Redlands School
Wallisdean School
6) Local working parent with child(ren) of nursery/pre-school age looking for a nursery/pre-school setting that fits around your job

If you have answered yes to any of the above six categories we could be just the nursery/pre-school for you and you have the opportunity to have a say in our service from day 1! So please read on, give us honest answers to our questions and we promise we will keep you informed on progress so that you can speak to us about how we can help you and your child make this important decision. Also, to thank you for your time you will be entered into our draw to WIN A FREE PARTY FOR 10 CHILDREN AT FUN CITY OR SOCCER CITY IN FAREHAM.

Please remember whilst completing the questions on sessions and how you might choose to build them up, that in the term starting after a child’s third birthday they are entitled to 15 hours EYF learning per week spread over three or more sessions over a 38 week period. For those parents who would prefer/need all year round settings there is an alternative “stretched” option applicable from September 2012 to help you spread your childcare costs, whereby you will be able to take 11 hours EYF entitlement per week over three or more sessions over a 51 week period, then there is a final 9 hours to be used at your discretion.

We would ask that surveys are returned by Monday, 18th June to ensure all feedback is fed into our initial set up plan, however, if you receive this survey after that time we would still be delighted to receive your comments for consideration during our setup process.
