Introduction

If you've been looking for a job lately, you've probably noticed that many employers are using technology extensively throughout the hiring process for everything from advertising open positions to accepting applications to telling you that you've got the job. But for jobseekers who lack the necessary computer skills, this transition to technology can present many challenges. I am a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University conducting research for my master’s thesis on understanding the effects of the increasing role that companies are placing on computer use in the job search and hiring process. The questions asked in this survey are designed to gather information about your background with technology and your current experiences using technology to conduct your job search. Please answer all of the following 16 questions as best as you can. The results will be used to propose new solutions to help support people with limited technology skills better access and manage the job search and hiring process.
