expression of interest

Have you tried to learn computational skills on your own, primarily using online resources? Have you ever struggled with managing all the different kinds of informational and educational content on the web, figuring out a path forward, and making progress?
If you said yes to those questions, please consider participating in our research!
We are researchers in human-computer interaction (HCI) looking for people who
1.) frequently rely on informal learning resources on the web (e.g., videos, tutorials, documentation, articles, podcasts, etc)
2) to self-learn computational skills, such as (but not limited to) programming, web dev, data management and analysis, machine learning, etc.
Please share this request with your colleagues or friends who fit this description. We encourage people from any major/background to participate.

We are offering $50 Amazon gift cards to participants who complete the study.

More details:
Self-learning complex computational skills using informal resources online can be challenging. Sifting through overwhelming amounts of information, struggling to make decisions about what to learn, wondering if you learned anything useful or worse, learned the wrong thing - then going back and trying again - is difficult!
In our research, we are investigating ways to support your self-learning needs by building human-centered self-monitoring tools. Your input will be very valuable in helping us out with our research!
