The Institute for Emerging Issues is pleased to announce the Annual Local Government Breakfast. The Local Government Breakfast will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014, 7:00 a.m. at the Raleigh Marriott City Center, Room 301A. The breakfast immediately precedes the 29th Annual Emerging Issues Forum-- Teachers and the Great Economic Debate. For more information about the schedule of events, please click here.

This year's Local Government Breakfast speaker is Dr. Pasi Sahlberg, Director General of the Centre for International Mobility and Cooperation (CIMO) in Helsinki, Finland. Dr. Sahlberg has written and spoken at length about the how Finland has positioned itself as a global forerunner in education. He will share his insights into education and teacher quality with North Carolina's local government leaders.
