Accounting for Tourism: Workshop and Survey

ICARB – the Initiative for Carbon Accounting - are a group of academics, professionals, and policy makers working to create a set of transparent, consistent and accurate rules for carbon accounting in Scotland.

In 2012-13 ICARB is holding a series of workshops to determine the rules that should be used to account for carbon in different sectors. Accounting for tourism: alignment across scales and boundaries

Wednesday 6 Feb 2013, 11am – 1 pm, ECCI, 15 South College Street, Edinburgh EH8 9AA

Continuing ICARB's discussions about carbon accounting in the tourism sector, we will explore the potential for an integrated carbon accounting methodology that can be applied across a range of destination scales from the individual operator to a national assessment of the carbon impact of tourism. Speakers will include Jon Proctor, Green Tourism Business Scheme; Janie Neumann, VisitScotland; and Dr Rachel Dunk, Crichton Carbon Centre.

We hope you will consider attending. This form includes an option to register for this workshop.

We are also inviting sectoral stakeholders such as yourself to complete a pre-workshop survey. It will take less than 10 minutes to complete and your responses will directly inform the content of this workshop, as well as the forthcoming International Conference on Carbon Accounting in 2013. We will use your contributions anonymously and will not share your personal data with any other organisation.

Many thanks in advance for your time,

Rachel Dunk
