Thanks for participating in the eBird Fall Photo Quiz for 2012 sponsored by Swarovski Optik. These photos could be from anywhere in the United States or Canada, and all species are of annual occurrence in the region.

We ask that you identify them as you would in the field if you were birding in a new area. If you would carry a field guide, please use a field guide to identify the birds. If you would not typically bird with a field guide when visiting a new area, please do not use one on this quiz. The month and location are given for each photo, which can be helpful for identification.

Remember, there is an option to write in the species name if you can't find the correct answer in the multiple choice options. We hope to learn more about the varying skill levels of birders using eBird so that we can better design our output tools to suit the needs of our community.
