Dissertation Study Post

1. Are you a current law student? Interested in Juvenile Justice Policy and Legal Research?

I am a 5th year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology department at the University of Alabama. I am currently conducting my dissertation research that examines law students’ attitudes and beliefs toward treatment programs for juvenile offenders. An important focus of this research is the attitudes and beliefs of legal professionals; your opinions about juvenile treatment are of great interest. Thus, I hope you will participate in my dissertation study entitled, “Attitudes and Beliefs about Juvenile Delinquency Rehabilitation.” This study is IRB approved by the University of Alabama.
Past research on this topic has neglected legal professionals—what they know and feel about the “best practices” for offender rehabilitation. Therefore, I am extremely interested in all of your opinions (1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls), even if you don't plan to go into criminal law. By participating in my study, you will a) learn about the latest research on juvenile justice b) help produce cutting edge data on law students’ perspectives, and c) earn money for organizations that matter! In return for your participation, the project will donate $1 per participant to the American Bar Association-Law Student Division or National Legal Aid and Defender Association, at their preference and request. Therefore, the more that you participate the more money you will earn for these organizations!
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete online questionnaires and watch an online presentation (with audio) in one session. This study requires that you have uninterrupted access to a computer with Internet access for the entire 60 minutes. I hope you consider this opportunity. It is a great way for you to play a vital role in shaping public policy and juvenile justice research.
If you would like to participate, please email the following address that simply states you are “interested in completing the study” and give your university affiliation. You do NOT need to provide your name or any additional information: uapsychresearcher@gmail.com
