Consumer Guide to Animal Welfare Labelling |
1. Introduction to the Consumer Guide to Animal Welfare Labelling
In response to overwhelming public demand, Humane Society International (HSI) has developed an online consumer guide (www.animalwelfarelabels.org.au) for products which use and promote welfare standards for animal products (meat and eggs).
Data collected from certification schemes and standards will be presented in an easy to read format to provide consumers with a straightforward tool to help them understand humane animal product production methods and choose products which consider animals’ welfare.
Please fill out as best you can. Partial answers will be completed using public information provided by your organization.
Also, please supply your Standard’s logo and website link to provide consumers with more information on their nearest stockists etc.
As this is a general form, certain sections of the questionnaire may, or may not, apply to your scheme or standards. Please indicate where this is the case.
Thank you for helping to promote consumer confidence in certified animal products which promote standards for animal welfare.
