This award will honor a farmer who has made outstanding contributions to Indiana communities through philanthropic, service, volunteerism, donation and/or leadership projects. The individual’s accomplishments should also reflect his/her efforts to educate the community and those who may be far removed from agriculture.
The individual’s record of accomplishments should reflect active support for projects that improve the local community. These projects may not necessarily involve an agricultural focus (e.g., working with parks, schools, volunteer services, or other community outreach projects).
Criteria for Eligibility
• Individual must be a farmer deriving all or some income from his/her Indiana farming operation.
• Individual must be actively seeking to educate his/her community about his/her farm and agriculture.
• Individual resides in Indiana.
• Individual has made significant contributions to his/her local Indiana community.
• Individual has not been the recipient of this award in the past.
Guidelines for Submittal
• Self nominations are accepted.
