Designing More Effective Distance Learning Systems

1. introduction

1. This study looks to investigate the design of distance learning classrooms from the perspective of the students in an effort to enhance learning effectiveness. This study will investigate instructional methods that can be used throughout a distance learning network of local and remote classrooms.

If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete an online form asking for basic demographics such as age, gender, academic status (e.g. freshman, sophomore, etc.), and your availability to attend one of the scheduled classroom presentations. Part of the online form will be a 10 question pre-test. You will then be emailed an invitation to one of the on campus classroom presentations. During the presentation you will view a 20 minute video on the history of social media, then be asked to complete a series of multiple-choice questions. The classroom and the presentation will be video recorded as part of this research project. The presentation and questionnaires should take approximately 25 to 30 minutes to complete.

The first 100 participants to register, view the classroom presentation, and take the final survey will receive a free $5 Starbucks gift card as a thank you for your help!
