About this survey

The green peach aphid (GPA) is a widespread horticultural pest, attacking a broad range of crops. GPA has a high tendency to develop insecticide resistance, and this is becoming commonplace across numerous industries. Within Australia, there are documented cases of resistance to several insecticide classes, including synthetic pyrethroids, organophosphates and carbamates. Achieving adequate control of resistant GPA populations is becoming particularly challenging in some regions.

We are conducting this survey of horticultural growers and consultants throughout Australia to better understand the issues surrounding GPA resistance. We aim to better understand the insecticide spray practices of growers across crop types and different geographic regions. The results of this survey will help identify resistance drivers and subsequently devise resistance management strategies for GPA.

Participation in this survey, which is as part of a project funded by Horticultural Australia Limited using the vegetable industry levy and matched funds from the Australian Government (project number: VG12109), is voluntary and should take less than 10 minutes of your time.

Thank you for participating in this survey; your response is greatly appreciated.
