Reporting of accurate, timely and useful information about modern agriculture is extremely important. This is critical not only for farmers trying to make decisions for their farming operations, but also for consumers. Consumers are increasingly disconnected from agriculture, but are still interested and invested in the quality and safety of their food, how it is raised and the impact agriculture has on the environment.
This award will honor an individual in the media (e.g., editor, writer, reporter, broadcaster, photographer, etc.)who has achieved excellence in reporting about Indiana agriculture. The nomination of a media professional should be for outstanding contribution to Indiana agriculture through either an agricultural or general news outlet.
Criteria for Eligibility
• Individual is currently employed as a media professional (e.g., editor, writer, reporter, broadcaster, photographer, etc.) or freelance.
• Individual has made significant contributions to Indiana agriculture through his/her role.
• Individual has not been the recipient of this award in the past.
Guidelines for Submittal
• Self nominations are accepted.
