Festival and Volunteer Information

The Viva La Vida 2015 Festival will be on 10/31/15. The parade will be from 12pm-1pm (set-up from 11am-12pm) and the Festival from 1pm-9pm. We will need volunteers from 8am-10pm, depending on the volunteer position and your shift time preferences.

We are looking for the following:

EDUCATION VOLUNTEERS will help teach both children and adults an array of art activities during the festival; these activities will run from 12pm-9pm.

PARADE PROCESSION VOLUNTEERS will help with setting up and carrying forth the parade. The procession will march down historic 6th Street and end at 5th Street and Congress Avenue, marking the transition from the afternoon to the exciting evening portion of the street festival. The set-up time for the parade will be from 11am-12pm, with the parade running from 12pm-1pm.

INFORMATION VOLUNTEERS will help with the information booth during the festival hours from 1pm-9pm.

GENERAL FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS will help with the general festival duties including setting up and loading down equipment and props, hanging up decorations, and any other help needed throughout the day. Volunteers will be needed all throughout the day, from 8am-10pm.

PARADE FLOAT CONSTRUCTION VOLUNTEERS will help guest artist, Monica Lejarazu, construct a sugar skull parade float during the week leading up to the festival. Previous carpentry experience is mandatory.
