Planting Site Application

Thank you for your interest in Tree Trust’s Green Futures Initiative! Becoming a Green Futures planting site is an opportunity to improve your park or recreation area. It’s also a great way to gain exposure, introduce members from the community to your organization/site, and provide an opportunity for concerned citizens to actively participate in improving their local environment.

• Planting sites must be public places – parks, recreation areas, trails, etc. Private property will not be considered.

• Applicants are accepted on a rolling basis and can be considered for a planting event in the fall or spring.

• Successful applicants will:
–have an appropriate space (park, trail, etc.) for the planting of a minimum of 50 six- to ten-foot trees
–demonstrate a financial and environmental need for Tree Trust to provide such a planting
–commit to providing three years of maintenance for the new plantings
–agree to provide digital pictures of the planting site as well as a one-page project summary one year after the planting event (report should describe the implementation of their maintenance plan and include a brief description of how the planting made a difference to their organization and/or community)

• Tree Trust will:
–Review all applications and provide feedback to each applicant
–Solicit and manage donations for Green Futures
–Work with partner organizations to develop an appropriate landscape plan
–Provide trees, mulch, other related planting materials and equipment
–Prepare the site and staff the event (including management and recruitment of volunteers)
–Advertise the partnership and planting
