Planning an engaging and effective afterschool program requires thoughtful preparation. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore strategies for developing clear learning goals. An understanding of youth resiliency and developmental assets will be reviewed. In addition, participants will learn how to develop activities that support literacy skills and theme based learning, as well as the New Jersey academic standards. Participants will be exposed to numerous resources and curriculum that can be implemented in afterschool and camps for exciting learning opportunities.
This project is funded in its entirety with federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by No Child Left Behind, Title IV, Part B,
21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant funds through a cooperative grant agreement with the New Jersey Department of Education.
