Traditional CPC (also known as Rotation Planar Chromatography (RPC)) consists of a rotating glass plate coated with silica gel of different thicknesses for only normal phase chromatography.  Samples inserted in the center pass through the media and eluent works its way to the perimeter and is collected for detection. CPC has been around for decades and, while it provides for quick, convenient analysis of samples, has the drawback of not being capable of reverse phase separation and the inconvenience of coating glass plates.

The new CPC device dramatically distinguishes itself and offers the following:

·         It combines the advantages of both Preparative Thin Layer Chromatography (PTLC), Column Chromatography (CC) and preparative High Performance Liquid Chromatography (p-HPLC)

·         As compared to flash cartridge systems it has an additional, unique parameter (advantage) of centrifugal dynamics (ie. rapid and efficient separation of compounds (with close Rf values) in a mixture.)

·         Rotational dynamics has an effect on an individual component when in a mixture with different molecular weights.  This is a beneficial factor for the separation and purification process.

·         Quick and efficient separation of diastereoisomeric mixtures

 ·        Patent-pending Rotary Disc allows for any bulk adsorbent (normal to reverse phase) and media (ion exchange, gel filtration, size exclusion) for every type of purification (natural products, reaction mixture, proteins, etc.)

·         Updated with modern technology: Instrument, Software, Gradient Pump, Detector & Fraction Collector
