Forth Environment Link - Grow Forth Network

Dear Friends
Grow Forth, a Forth Environment Link project, is applying to the Climate Challenge Fund to run a local food pilot in the Stirling Area. The pilot will:

1) Help consumers and food producers take more control over their food system.
2) Contribute towards an increase in the number of community growing spaces in the Stirling local authority area.
3) Work closely with local communities, community food projects and local food businesses to increase access to local, sustainable and healthier food.
4) Work with local communities to run a programme of workshops and meetings across the Stirling area by engaging and increasing awareness about food and our environment.
5) Help people to change their behaviour towards food in a way that helps decrease food waste, food costs and cuts carbon emissions.
6) Increase knowledge, skill sharing and confidence with food growing, buying, preparation and cooking.
7) Increase membership to our Grow Forth Network to provide a platform for piloting a local food co-op in Stirling. (Fife Diet is already trialling a Food co-op visit their website for a look - www.fifediet.co.uk/fife-food-coop)

The Grow Forth Network recently produced the Stirling Local Food Map. The map has been well received but it has raised more questions and ideas how local communities, individuals and local food businesses can work together to create a truly local food system.

We are asking for you to help us shape the next steps in our application to the Climate Challenge Fund. We need your views, thoughts and ideas. We hope you can spare a couple of minutes to complete our survey. The deadline is the 22nd of September. If you experience a problem with the survey let us know we can send you it in word format.
