Question Title

* 1. METRO is currently evaluating two alternatives for the alignment of the US90A/Southwest Corridor rail line that will operate from Missouri City up to the Fannin South rail station. Metro has 3 new lines currently under construction. They have 3 more proposed lines and the US90A line is one of them.

Do you agree with the following statement?

As Metro is adding light rail lines throughout the city, it will be important for Westbury to be connected.

Question Title

* 2. METRO has presented two alternative routes on US90A and both alternatives are the same for Westbury. However, there is an alignment option available through Westbury on both of those routes. One alignment option through Westbury has the track running adjacent to the northern edge of the existing railroad track known as the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR)along the north side of S Main and will require 50 acres of right-of-way (ROW). The second alignment option through Westbury will have the track travel up the Hillcroft esplanade and then turn east onto the W Airport esplanades. Both of these options will directly affect Westbury residents. What is your opinion?

Favor No opinion Not in favor
Straight line option: Install the line on the north side of South Main along the existing railroad track. This option will directly impact the 54 houses that abut the railroad track as a certain number of feet will be needed as Right of Way (ROW).
Alignment option: Install the line but divert from South Main north onto the Hillcroft esplanade and then turn east on West Airport and take the entire esplanade and maybe a traffic lane all the way through until it meets South Main again . Additional ROW would be needed on the northwest corner of the US 90A/Hillcroft intersection, and the southeast corner of the Hillcroft/Airport intersection for the turn radii, and from Chimney Rock to S Main.
