Let's Talk About Book Clubs and Reading!

Are you a member of a local book club? We're looking for groups to feature on LHJ.com and potentially in the magazine! Just tell us about your club and you and your friends could be chosen as our Book Club Of The Month.

We're also looking for women who just love to read to tell us about their favorite books! We'll send you a new question every month about books, and you'll have the chance to be on our books page in the magazine. Even if you're not in a book club, answer the questions below that apply to you.

Thank you so much!

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself so we can get in touch with you if we feature your group.
2. Do you like to read? What are your favorite types of books?
3. Answer this question with a couple sentences:

It’s often that our favorite books are made into movies — and also often that we find ourselves repeating the phrase “the book was SO much better!” Can you think of a book you loved that was WAY better than the movie? What did you like more about the plot or the characters in the book that made it better than seeing it onscreen? What changes did the movie make that just didn’t work or sit well with you? Or, maybe you liked the movie, but there were just parts that felt different than the book?

(An answer to this question might appear in our March issue! We'll let you know if we want to use your quote.)
4. Are you in a book club? If yes, answer the rest of the questions below!
5. How many members do you have, and how long have you been getting together for book club meetings?
6. Is there anything special you do for each meeting (rotate houses, have wine and snacks, have a theme dinner based on the book, etc.)?
7. What's your favorite book you've read together and why?
8. Everyone's busy these days, why is it important to you to make time to read and then get together?
