LRM Alteration of Terrain Permit Guidance

Will your proposed project disturb any area within 50 feet of a surface water?

Typical land disturbances include, but are not limited to: grading, filling, dredging, mining, excavation, blasting, construction, removal of topsoil, removal of stumps or any other activity that results in a change to the preexisting ground conditions.

Surface waters are defined as: perennial and seasonal streams, lakes, ponds and tidal waters within the jurisdiction of the state, marshes, water courses, and other bodies of water, natural or artificial and includes all wetland areas regulated under RSA 482-A.
