Claremont Graduate University
WASC Capacity and Preparatory Review (CPR)
Site Visit Survey 2012
CGU is in the process of securing reaccreditation by WASC. The process is intended to both ensure
that CGU is in compliance with standards set forth by WASC and to help CGU improve the policies and
systems in place to ensure continuous quality improvement occurs. The information you provide in this
survey will help CGU improve its teaching, research, and service.
1. What is your role at CGU?
2. Describe how the CGU mission influences the work you do.
Consider your understanding of the mission as you know it, not necessarily the official language.

CGU's mission is to prepare a diverse group of outstanding individuals to assume leadership roles in the worldwide community through research, teaching, and practice in selected fields.
3. Describe the most important improvement CGU could make right now to improve its capacity to achieve its mission.
4. How have you been engaged in governance at CGU?
Describe how you contribute to policy and decision making.
5. What is CGU doing well to support student learning?
Describe the most important change that could improve student learning.
6. Please provide any additional information to help the WASC Visiting Team better understand CGU from your experience, and to further our improvement efforts, with specific attention to:
how well CGU achieves its mission
how well CGU aligns its resources to achieve its mission
how well CGU supports an environment for evidence based and collaborative decision making
Thank you for contributing to this survey effort. Your feedback is critical to the success of this site visit and plays an important role in the reaccreditation of CGU.
