SF BART/Muni Escalator/Entrance Project

BART is required to upgrade to the station escalator/stairway entrances. The existing escalators will be replaced and the new machinery will require a basic level of protection from the elements in the form of a canopy structure. This protective structure requirement gives BART the opportunity to enhance the customer experience at the station entrances.

We would appreciate your input as to what you feel are priorities for improving the stations and the issues that we should consider as we design the new canopies. Please help us prioritize what is important to the rider’s comfort and convenience. This is a great opportunity to do more than just ‘upgrade’ the existing system.
