In 2012, the Superintendent formed a task force to study bullying and make corresponding recommendations to the board. Many of the recommendation have been implemented. The task force however is interested in doing a District survey annually to monitor bullying in Ankeny Schools. Please take some time to respond thoughtfully to the following survey.

The definition of bullying is defined in Ankeny school policy has changed the definition of behavior that is considered bullying is:

When a student (or group of students) tries to exclude, injure, embarrass, humiliate, or insult another person through written, verbal, electronic or emotional means.
This behavior is substantially severe, persistent or pervasive and occurs when there is a real or perceived imbalance of power, popularity or strength.
Bullying behavior causes physical or emotional harm to a student, property or creates an intimidating, threatening or abusive environment either inside or outside of school but has a negative effect on the victim while at school.
