In 2012, the Superintendent formed a task force to study bullying and then to make corresponding recommendations to the board. A decision was made to send out a survey each year so that the District could continue to monitor our efforts toward stopping bullying. Please take some time to respond thoughtfully to the following survey.

Ankeny School's definition of Bullying behavior is as follows:

When a student (or group of students) tries to exclude, injure, embarrass, humiliate, or insult another person through written, verbal, electronic or emotional means, and this behavior is substantially severe, persistent or pervasive, and occurs when there is a real or perceived imbalance of power, popularity or strength.

Bullying behavior causes physical or emotional harm to a student or property, or it creates an intimidating, threatening or abusive environment either inside or outside of school, but it has a negative effect on the victim while at school.

When answering the questions, use the Ankeny task force definition of bullying that has been provided to you on the accompanying sheet of paper.
