About the Safe Journeys: Tribal Road Safety Audits Project and this Survey

The project goal is to increase roadway safety in tribal communities in order to promote increased mobility and access to services for tribal members and expand tribal employment and economic development opportunities. To achieve this goal, NIJC proposes to train tribal communities to conduct Tribal Road Safety Audits to identify and plan for immediate, short- and long-term roadway multi-modal safety improvements.

This survey will be distributed to all tribal communities in California to determine the need for information about Tribal Road Safety Audits and interest in participating in the Safe Journeys Project.

Your responses will be kept confidential. All information collected will be reported in aggregate.

Before we begin, there are a few terms that we would like to define:

Road Safety Audit — An RSA is a formal examination of a future roadway project by an independent, qualified audit team that then reports on potential safety issues.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Raquelle Myers, by telephone: (707) 579-5507 or by e-mail at: nijc@aol.com.

We thank you for your consideration of our request to participate in this survey!
