The Whitten Project is inspiring the next generation of leaders for the West, providing a group of Year 9 and 10 boys and girls an exciting range of life, civic, football, netball and other sporting experiences through the Western Bulldogs.

The purpose of The Whitten Project is to empower Young Leaders and encourage them to explore and develop their leadership qualities. Young Leaders build confidence, determine new ways to lead, connect and contribute to the community on issues they are passionate about.

Young Leaders will participate in sessions across a range of elite sporting environments including the AFL, Western Bulldogs and the Melbourne Vixens. They will explore civic and personal leadership, as well as life-skills including self-awareness, relationship building, goal setting, resilience, support networks, team work, setting examples, developing people and encouraging others.

The Whitten Project is now calling for nominations for young leaders who have demonstrated leadership in their community. Please refer to the Nomination Information Pack regarding eligibility and commitment needed to complete the project. A participant does not need to be a highly skilled sportsperson or even play sport regularly. An interest in sport and the role it plays in the community is desirable.

If you know a young leader who is willing to give things a go, is eager to learn and wants to contribute to the community, please nominate them now!
