Enterprise Computer Consulting/ECS Medical BillingRecently helped recycle tons of used toner cartridges with the Pajarito Environmental Center (with a credit to the center). Also, they set up a new computer system and recycled all packaging. Jemez House Thrift StoreThe store does an amazing job of taking in everything that is donated and finding a new use for it. The furniture is sold as is or is reused by local’s to make new furniture. The clothing is either sold or sent to Clothes Helping Kids to be recycled. Volunteers sort through plastic ware and recycle all the reusable plastic. Other volunteers takes books to the women’s prison, while others pack up toys and clothing to be donated to a children’s home in Mexico. The volunteers do everything they can to insure that very little enters our local transfer station. As a team these dedicated individuals work hard to take the cast off items brought to them and give them a second chance at not becoming landfill. Los Alamos Co+op MarketIndividuals involved with the Co+op, shoppers, members and especially staff are passionate about recycling, sustainability and environmental stewardship. The commitment of the Co+op’s Community Outreach program has greatly increased community awareness about recycling, reusing and reducing waste. The LA Co+op Market sets an example for all business by their business philosophy and day-to-day operations (including terracycling and composting).
