Telephone Alert Option |
Alert Now
Several parents have requested that Region 15 use the Alert Now telephone alert feature to notify them of changes to the school schedule as a result of weather-related issues (delays, cancellations, etc.).
A number of years ago we explored the use of our Alert Now telephone alert system to notify families of school closure due to weather-related issues. At that time, parents and guardians expressed they did not wish to receive an early morning phone call. Many people appear interested now, so we wanted to revisit the issue.
The decision to disseminate the weather-related Alert Now messages would be implemented district-wide to all Region 15 households. Calls would be made whenever there are changes to the school schedule including weather-related delays, early dismissals, and cancellations.
In order to reach students attending high school, calls may be placed to families as early as 5:45 a.m.
We would like to gauge your level of interest in this feature.
The following survey is meant to guide district decision-making regarding the implementation of a weather-related Alert Now Telephone Message.
