Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Your input is very important in helping us meet the current STEM job needs and growing the workforce of tomorrow for the Great Lakes Bay Region.
The purpose of this survey is to identify and understand both current and future STEM workforce needs in the area. This survey is connected to a larger effort with the Great Lakes Bay Region STEM Impact Initiative sponsored by the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance (GLBRA).
The information shared in this survey is considered confidential. It will only be used as key data input into understanding the regional STEM demand.
For the purposes of this survey, “STEM” stands for the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A STEM job requires the application of knowledge across the areas of science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics, and demands higher order critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
A STEM job:
• Often requires some post-secondary education, industry certification/ licensure, and/or advanced training;
• Requires higher level cognitive skills:
• Links to career pathways with increased earning potential; and
• Provides opportunities for advancement and continuous learning in STEM and non-STEM fields.
