Radiation Oncology Mini CEX Assessment |
1. About the Mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercise (Mini CEX)
The Mini CEX involves the trainee being observed in an encounter with a patient and rated by an assessor (the clinical supervisor) on a number of dimensions.
This is a work-based, in-training assessment which involves rating the trainee on an activity which already occurs in current training such as seeing a patient in the clinic. Immediate feedback is provided to the trainee and is the most important part of the exercise.
The paper form should be completed and signed by both the assessor and the trainee, and the original given back to the trainee for inclusion in their Learning Portfolio.
The Clinical Supervisor or (Director of Training) who observed the clinical encounter should enter the data into the online form.
