Economic impact of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) in England and Wales

Introduction

This survey has been prepared for the purpose of collecting data of relevance to ongoing work on the economic impact of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) in England and Wales at the Royal Veterinary College. We would be grateful to receive your expert opinions which would allow us to obtain a realistic and up-to-date estimate of the economic consequences associated with the presence of BVD in the English and Welsh herds and the potential benefits its eradication through possible mitigation strategies could bring.

The questions we ask concern dairy and beef suckler farms and take about 30 minutes to answer. Please provide any comments that you may have either in the ‘Comments’ field immediately after the questions or in the end of the questionnaire. For fields you feel you cannot confidently provide an estimate, please choose 'Don't know' or state so in the Comments field.

By completing this questionnaire you give us your consent to use the data provided by you for the purpose of our study. We would like to assure you that all data will be stored securely and treated with confidentiality. We would also like to offer all participants a copy of the final report of this study should they wish to receive one.

Please complete this questionnaire by 10th August 2014.

Thank you for your cooperation.
