The Impact of the Medicare Rule Change for TEP Users |
Medicare TEP Survey
On October 1, 2010 Medicare instituted a rule change in how Indwelling Tracheoesophageal Voice Prostheses (TEPs) were reimbursed. One of these changes meant that patients could no longer submit for reimbursement for an Indwelling-type device. As described in the August 2011 IAL News, the IAL and the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) are protesting this change and are looking to gather information about how this change may have affected Medicare patients with Indwelling TEPs.
