In 2014 working people face unprecedented attacks from both the Abbott government and big business. Their plans would see the cost of living rise while wages go down.

The recent Federal Budget includes measures to dismantle Medicare by charging a fee to see the doctor; raising the pension age to 70 and reducing payments; and includes no funding and no plan for affordable housing. Meanwhile, the Abbott government is supporting big business calls to abolish penalty rates and the minimum wage.

Now, more than ever we need our union to be a strong voice on the things that matter.
