Connecting People, Ideas and Resources Across the Globe: A Multi‐Functional Website to Assist with Non‐Medical Aspects of Supporting Adults 65+

Letter of Information

You are invited to participate in a project assessing the needs and interests of those who provide support to an adult 65+. Specifically, this research will help determine if, and how, an online tool could help the support providers. This project is supervised by Pat Spadafora, Director of the Sheridan Elder Research Centre. This research is funded by a grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC).

Confidentiality

Any information that is obtained in connection with this study and that can be identified with you will remain confidential. Your personal data will be associated with a code, which will be stored in a file with only your age and gender. This will ensure that anyone outside of the researcher listed above and a trained research assistant will not be able to identify you based on your code. Your contact information will never be shared with other organizations, or used to contact you without your permission.

Your completed questionnaire will be stored in a secure location that will be accessible only to Pat Spadafora, the Director of SERC.

Procedure

After you have read this Letter of Information, you will be asked to complete a survey that will take approximately 15 minutes. By clicking "Next" below, you will be understood to consent to participate in this research study.

Potential Risks

You may wish not to answer all of the questions in this questionnaire. If you feel uncomfortable and wish to skip questions or stop, you may do so at any time.

Potential Benefits

Your participation will help to inform the future development of an online tool to help individuals who support an adult 65+.

Participation and Withdrawal

Your participation in this project is voluntary. You are under no pressure to participate in the project, and if you choose to participate you are free to stop at any time, with no penalty to yourself. You may also exercise the option of removing your data from the study.

Rights of Research Participants
