Spring Cove K4 Program |
Introduction
The Spring Cove School District is considering the implementation of a full-day Kindergarten program for four-year-olds (K4). If implemented, the K4 program would be open to all resident children who would be four (4) years of age by September 1 each year.
The program would be eligible for funding in the same manner as the State provides funding to school districts for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students. The State requires the following criteria for this funding:
1. The program be open to all resident children aged 4 regardless of family income.
2. The program operates for a minimum of 180 days.
3. The program follows the State Attendance law.
4. The teachers for the program have State certification in Early Childhood Education.
We need your input to determine if this program would be of benefit to our community. Please answer the following questions:
