Section 12: Social Capital Assessment
The Nebraska Broadband project is working to expand broadband reach and effectiveness for Nebraskans. To help develop the best possible plans, we need good information. We invite you to complete and submit this survey.
This section will examine your social capital. Are community leaders aware of the importance of information technology and do they work together to address IT development issues? Are there good lines of communication and good working relationships among community institutions and citizens?
Community leadership and support is the cornerstone to all local development efforts. Forming an effective technology committee requires strong representation from all sectors of the community. Many communities struggle to get local government officials and local business people involved.
Following is a brief survey for you to examine your community leadership. This survey corresponds to Section 12: Social Capital in the Engaging People. Linking the World Broadband Planning Workbook, Page 119. The workbook can be found at: http://go.unl.edu/broadbandplanningworkbook.
Before beginning the survey, please answer a few demographic questions. Thank you for your responses.
